Kent, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, the Isle of Wight and Essex. Within each county we cover every postcode — from the Isle of Wight to Milton Keynes, Canterbury to Newbury, Southampton to Southend.
How do I know if my exact postcode is covered?
If your postcode falls within any of the counties above, it is covered. If you're on the border of the South East (for example far-west Wiltshire, north Northamptonshire or south London) call us on the number in the header and we'll tell you honestly whether we have a suitable local installer or whether you're better served elsewhere.
Why do you only operate in the South East?
Because vetting installers properly takes time. Auditing MCS status, RECC membership, insurance, financials and complaints history for one installer takes us roughly two working days per year. We'd rather know fifty South East installers well than five hundred nationally at a superficial level — and it means every match is based on real, current knowledge of the partner.
Which Distribution Network Operator (DNO) covers my area?
The South East is split three ways. UK Power Networks covers Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex (east of Chichester) and Essex. SSEN (Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks) covers Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the Isle of Wight. Surrey is split between UK Power Networks and SSEN depending on postcode. Your installer handles the G98 / G99 filing with whichever DNO applies.
Are prices the same across every county?
Broadly yes. Panel, inverter and battery hardware is priced nationally; the only meaningful regional variance is scaffolding cost (higher in denser Kent and Surrey commuter towns, lower in rural Hampshire and Oxfordshire) and drive-time labour on remote Isle of Wight and rural West Sussex jobs. Expect ±5% around the national quote range.
Do you cover conservation areas and listed buildings?
Yes — our installers regularly work in conservation areas across the Cotswolds AONB, South Downs National Park, Chichester Harbour AONB, Kent Downs, Surrey Hills and North Wessex Downs, and on Grade II listed properties. Consent is typically decided within 8 weeks, is included in our quotes at cost, and our installers know which panel colours, mounting rails and cable routes tend to secure planning approval in each authority.
How quickly can you get an installer to my area?
For a phone quote, same working day. For an in-person survey, typically 5-10 working days in mainland counties and 10-14 working days on the Isle of Wight. Installs themselves are booked 4-8 weeks out from a signed quote — sooner in winter when demand is lower, longer in the March-June spring peak.
Do you cover new-build homes on developer estates?
Yes. New-build installs are actually simpler than retrofits because DNO capacity is typically pre-provisioned by the developer and the roof is un-weathered. We'll check your NHBC / LABC warranty terms before drilling any fixings — most modern developer warranties explicitly permit MCS-accredited solar retrofits within the first 10 years.
