Commercial Solar
Solar PV for businesses, warehouses, farms and public buildings.
South East businesses are turning to solar at record pace — the combination of 50-90% capital allowances, falling kit prices and high electricity costs gives commercial installs payback periods of 3-5 years in many cases.
Who we work with
Light industrial units, distribution warehouses, agricultural buildings, retail parks, dental and GP practices, schools, churches, community buildings and offices.
Capital allowances
Until April 2026, businesses can claim full expensing on qualifying solar capital costs — typically reducing the post-tax payback by 25%. We work with your accountant to maximise the relief.
Funding options
Outright purchase, lease, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and operating lease are all available. We model each option against your projected consumption and tax position.
Typical sizing
Most commercial enquiries land between 30 kWp (small office / warehouse) and 500 kWp (large industrial unit). We also deliver agricultural ground-mount and barn-roof systems up to 1 MWp.
Half-hourly data modelling
For any commercial enquiry above 50 kWp we ask for 12 months of half-hourly meter data from your supplier. That lets us model self-consumption hour by hour rather than guess it — typically improving the accuracy of the payback projection by 15-25% versus annual-bill estimates. The data is free to request and arrives as a CSV within a week.
Roof structural and asset surveys
Commercial roof assessments include structural loading calculations (signed off by a chartered engineer where required), a remaining-life assessment of the roof covering, and a review of insurance implications. We won't install on a roof with under 10 years of life left without a frank conversation about re-roof timing and ballasted alternatives.
Grid connection and DNO process
Systems above 16 A per phase require a G99 application before energising. For sub-100 kWp installs we typically get approval within 6-10 weeks; larger systems can take 3-6 months and may require an export limitation device. We manage the full DNO process, including MPAN changes, half-hourly metering and any required protection studies.
EV fleet and battery integration
Commercial installs increasingly bundle workplace EV charging and battery storage. Pairing a 100 kWp roof with a 100-200 kWh battery and OCPP-managed chargers smooths grid demand, qualifies for additional capital allowances and supports demand-side response revenue (typically £30-£70/kW/year via aggregator agreements).

FAQs
What people ask
How long is commercial solar payback?
3-5 years is typical with full expensing; 5-8 years without. Half-hourly data from your meter sharpens the model significantly.
Do you handle DNO applications?
Yes — we manage G99/G100 applications, half-hourly metering changes and import/export agreements end-to-end.
Can solar reduce our carbon reporting figures?
Yes — on-site generation directly reduces Scope 2 emissions. We provide annual generation reports formatted for SECR, ESOS and CDP submissions, and we'll include avoided-CO₂ figures on monthly performance summaries.
What happens at end of life?
Panels are recycled via PV CYCLE compliance; inverters are typically refurbished or stripped for component recovery. We include end-of-life decommissioning and recycling pricing in every commercial proposal so you can plan the full asset lifecycle from day one.
