If your system has stopped generating, is reporting an error, or your bills have unexpectedly risen, we can diagnose and repair systems installed by any company — including those whose installer is no longer trading.
Common issues we fix
Failed inverters, blown DC isolators, water-ingress on connectors, MC4 corrosion, faulty optimisers (SolarEdge), Enphase microinverter failures, monitoring black-outs, tripped earth-fault protection, and pigeon-proofing for nesting birds.
Same-week response
We aim to attend non-urgent repairs within 5 working days and emergency callouts within 24-48 hours where possible.
Manufacturer warranty support
If your inverter or panels are still in warranty, we'll handle the manufacturer claim on your behalf — many warranty replacements arrive within 7-10 days.
Diagnosing 'my bill went up'
If your electricity bill has risen and you suspect the solar is at fault, we start with three quick checks: inverter status (any standing fault?), monitoring data versus expected generation, and your import/export meter readings. In roughly half the cases we attend, the solar is fine and the bill rise comes from a tariff change or a new appliance — we'll tell you that for free rather than upsell a repair.
Orphaned-system rescue
Around one in five repair calls we attend involves a system whose original installer has gone out of business. We take ownership: re-register the system on the MCS database where possible, re-bind monitoring to your account, source spares for older inverters and bring the install back to a fully serviceable state. Most orphaned-system rescues cost £400-£900 and restore years of useful life.
Roof leaks and water ingress
If a roof has started leaking near the array, the cause is almost always a flashing or rail failure, not the panels themselves. We work alongside roofers when needed, document the defect for your installer or insurer, and re-seal correctly with EPDM and proper lead/aluminium flashings — never silicone alone.

FAQs
What people ask
My solar isn't generating — what should I do?
First check whether the inverter is reporting an error code. If everything looks normal but generation has dropped, contact us — we'll arrange a diagnostic visit.
Can you repair systems from installers who've gone bust?
Yes — we frequently inherit orphaned systems and bring them back into full warranty-equivalent service.
How much does a typical repair cost?
Diagnostic visits are £149 and credited against any repair. A failed DC isolator runs £180-£320 fitted. An out-of-warranty string inverter replacement is £900-£1,800 depending on size. Battery module swaps and roof rework are quoted per job.
Do you carry stock for same-day fixes?
We carry the most common spares — MC4 connectors, DC isolators, optimisers, monitoring dongles and inverter fuses — in every van. Inverter replacements are typically ordered and fitted within 5-10 working days.
